WESTGATE CHURCH GLOBAL MINISTRIES

In addition to supporting all sorts of individuals and organizations across the Bay and around the world, WestGate Church also has some “homegrown” ministries. These “in-house” ministries are funded, organized, and led by WestGate Church. And all of them exist to serve and help people outside our four walls. Here’s a brief introduction to those ministries and the impact they had in our city (and in some cases, around the world).

Refugee CARE

In August of 2021, the US military departure from Afghanistan, and then months later in February of 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine resulted in millions of displaced people fleeing their home countries to seek safety and asylum across the globe.  Many of these legal refugees were granted asylum in California, right near the Bay Area.  In response to this new influx of traumatized, war-torn families (many of whom have young children), WestGate Church started Refugee CARE to meet the immediate and serious needs of refugees in our area.  In total, this past year WestGate Church was able to give more than $204,000 to Afghan and Ukrainian refugee care, and hundreds of families have been served and cared for. Equally as important to us and the refugees are the many of you who have given your time to share God’s love with your prayers, time, and hands.

WESTGATE WATER

In October of 2013, some folks at WestGate had a brilliant idea. What if we asked our entire church community to bring in their recycling, and then we collected, sorted, crushed and redeemed those bottles and cans - and used the money to build clean water projects across the globe? Since then, WestGate Water Recycling has collected 75 tons of plastic and 30 tons of aluminum, raising more than $444,000 for 85 clean water projects around the world. This past year alone, WestGate Water Recycling raised more than $65,000 and funded 6 water projects in 5 countries.

In addition to our recycling program through WestGate Water, we also raised money for other water projects through Advent Conspiracy and Giving Good. This past year, we donated $708,735, which helped us to build a total of 69 wells in 16 different countries.

Since 2009, WestGate Church has donated $3,463,901 to fund 497 water well projects in over 25 countries around the world, all because of funds raised by WestGate Water, Advent Conspiracy, and Giving Good.

2024 GO Trips - Global Outreach trips

Every year, WestGate sends 4-8 teams of people to serve alongside our supported missionaries and partner organizations that operate in dozens of nations on nearly every continent (Sorry Antarctica!). We preach the Gospel, help alleviate poverty, build fresh water wells,  train leaders and participate in building projects.

ONE-FUND

During this two-year period, every contribution to God's work through WestGate Church is a contribution to the Here to Stay campaign, which will then be distributed accordingly:

  • $7M/year toward the Ministry Fund (operating budget) to continue ministry

  • $2.5M/year toward the LOUD Fund toward local + global compassion efforts

  • The remaining $16M (or whatever total is remaining after Ministry Fund and LOUD Fund) toward Here to Stay projects
