LEADERSHIP AND STAFF
These are just some of the faces that have the privilege of working at WestGate Church. You can find who does what here, and send us an email if you have any questions or just want to say “Hi!”.
I really enjoy motorcycles, golf, spending time with my grandkids, and lavish, high-end hair products. My heart is to help WestGate be a church that makes a difference in the lives of people and our community. A church that's marked by generosity and joy (and where Cowboy and 49er fans can live in harmony).
I received my graduate degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and have served as an associate pastor, a youth pastor, and a worship pastor prior to coming to WestGate Church in 2001. I’ve been married to my wife Dana for more than 35 years, and I’m thrilled to be called “pops” to my beautiful granddaughter and handsome grandson.
I hope you'll join us at one of our weekend gatherings. If you do, please swing by and say hi.
A native of Northern California with a performing arts background, I came to WestGate Church after nearly 25 years in worship arts. I have been married to my wife, Joy for more than 33 years and am the father of two adult children, Sara and Aubrey. I am an avid foodie and committed triathlete and have served on the Board of Directors for Silicon Valley Triathlon Club and FCA-Endurance. As a member of Compassion International’s Speaker’s Bureau and an advocate for ZERO Cancer, I have a heart and desire to see children thrive and men survive the devastating affects of poverty and prostate cancer.
Worship and Creative Arts Pastor
Hey, I’m Mark. I self identify as a recovering perfectionist. I’m not sure how many other problems I have because math is one of them. I grew up here in San Jose and have been on staff since 2001. I celebrate my wife, Lisa, my sons, Taylor and Grant, and all things creative. I dig volleyball (get it?), live concerts and pop tarts. There are a few things I do everyday, yet am still terrible at: cooking, overusing my car horn, and spelling “receipt”. The reoccuring question in my life: Will I finish strong in my pursuit of following Jesus? (It humbles me and takes me to my knees in prayer).
