Upside Down Kingdom - Week 6

In Luke 12, Jesus tells a deeply challenging parable about a man who decides to focus his life’s energies on accumulating stuff.  Jesus calls this man a fool, which deeply challenges the modern idea that we all float in (whether we want to or not) that “stuff” is what makes us happy.  Jesus wonders why we would waste our lives chasing things like money and ambition and sex when infinite joy is offered to us. As CS Lewis once wrote, “we are like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.”
