How to Live a Spiritual Life | Week 7 – If God is For Us | July 13, 2025

Sermon Description:

In Romans 8:31, Paul makes a pretty overwhelming conclusion, saying that “if God is for us, then who can be against us.”  Paul is looking across the history of not only his people, the Jewish history, and seeing God’s careful providence and guidance, but also looking at the cross of Jesus.  But this truth that God is “for us” is sometimes difficult to believe.  Three common lies often distort our understanding of God: that He is against us, that we’re not good enough for His love, and that if He’s truly for us, life should always go our way. Through Paul’s bold declaration we’re reminded of the unwavering truth that God has proven His love by giving His Son and continues to advocate for us through Christ. And we’re invited to anchor our hope not in our circumstances or performance, but in the interceding presence of Jesus and the enduring faithfulness of God.
