All Out — Week 4

In Acts 17-18, Paul enters the great city of Athens, a city filled with commerce, power, education and...idols. While there, Paul gives a series of speeches that both affirms and confronts the people of Athens. And through this episode in one of the largest cities of the ancient world, we see hints about how you and I can engage our culture in a way that’s both winsome AND effective.

Digging Deeper:

In Acts 17, we read the story of the Apostle Paul who travels to Athens, one of the most prominent cities in the ancient world. There, it says, he was distressed because the "city was full of idols." What is an idol? Do we, as thinking, modern 21st century people have idols anymore? If so, what do they look like? And more important, what clues from Acts 17 are there as to what Paul might say to our modern world? Worship pastor and Anthem School of Worship Director Josh Fox joins Liz and David to discuss these thoughts and more.
