The Gospel of John
Part 3: How to See, Hear, Trust, and Live
Almost everyone has an opinion about Jesus—who he is and isn’t, what he can and can’t do. But Jesus himself declares, clearly and definitively, who he is and what he can do. He claims to be “the light of the world”; he opens the eyes of the blind; he calls himself the “good shepherd”; and, most provocatively, he proclaims, “I am the resurrection and the life.” These are more than declarations; these are invitations—to see, to hear, to trust, and to live. As we continue in our journey through John’s Gospel, we’ll step into this invitation together, into true sight, following the voice of the shepherd into a relationship of trust, as he guides us through the ups and downs of modern life, ultimately leading us toward resurrection life.
