Vitals
I was born and raised in Boise of the great state of Idaho. I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home and attended Cole Community Church for 17 years. It was at Cole that I met my wife, Karey at a youth group function. Karey and I dated in high school and later renewed interest in each other in college. I graduated from Boise State University with dual BA’s in Finance and Accounting. I began my career with a public accounting firm, and there, earned the experience to become a CPA. Karey and I, and our kids, Kasey and Justin moved to San Jose in 2001 as a result of a job transfer, and began attending Westgate shortly thereafter.
A Few of My Favorite Things
Music - My favorite music is a rock/jazz/acoustic/country mix. Given that that is a bit hard to pin down, something along the lines of Van Morrison would be a substitute description.
Sports - I am currently enjoying participating in Kasey and Justin’s activities – soccer, tennis, swimming and baseball. My favorite sports activities are: running, (doing, not watching) and football (watching, not doing).
Movies - Judging by the movies I own, I’d say my favorites are: Remember the Titans, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. I secretly like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and have gotten into a habit of watching it each year.
Books - I’m not a real big fiction reader, I like to get my hands on a Clancy or Grisham book every now and then. I do enjoy reading non-fiction - mainly on various Christian topics.
What ifs
What if you could spend time with any famous historical person?
If I could spend time with any famous historical person, it would be Christ. If I could pick a time, one of my favorites would be on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:27), where “Christ, beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” That would have been a cool discussion.
