Grace LeeVitals
Grace was born in Hong Kong. Her family (parents & younger brother) immigrated to N. Calif. when she was 6 years old, residing in East Oakland. Grace is trilingual, speaking Cantonese, English and Ebonics. At 7, Grace accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, knowing full well that she had found a friend for life. She loved learning about God and “church” was her 2nd family.

She attended Mills College in Oakland, an all women’s college and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communications. She went to work at KTVU Channel 2 as a sales assistant, hoping to become a news anchor. But God had a different plan.
In 1991, Grace went on a short-term missions trip to the island of Macau (known as the Las Vegas of Asia) to teach English and to share the gospel. Little did she know, that trip would change her life. Not only did she meet Owen her husband on that team, she also felt God’s calling to full-time ministry. With a new found purpose in life, Grace attended Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland, OR and Owen shortly followed. Grace graduated with a Masters in Pastoral Studies and a minor in Women’s Ministries. Two years into the graduate program, Grace & Owen were married in 1993. After graduation, they moved back to Owen’s hometown of Sacramento. In 1997, they accepted an associate pastorate position at Home of Christ in Cupertino. For 11 years there, the pair served in a variety of ministries, but predominantly in youth ministry.

Throughout the years, Grace has worked in corporate and non-profit venues. The last being, DeAnza College helping students with disabilities find employment.

After trying for 8 years, God blessed Owen and Grace with a daughter named Faith born in 2002.

A Few of my Favorite Things
Movies - “My love for movies are wide and vast.” I love watching Jane Austen Period films, Kung Fu-Jet Li stuff, Star Wars, Tyler Perry movies and even High School Musical 1,2 &3. My favorite is “Pride & Prejudice” because I just love the wit and delicious language.

Books - “I have so many favorites including the Psalms in the Bible, 31 Days of Praise by Ruth Myers, Faith Is by Pamela Reeve and Shakespeare’s comedies. I just love reading in general.

Sports - “I’m not athletic but I love the great outdoors. From hiking, swimming & sledding during the winter days, we love being outside.

Hobbies - “I love hanging out with friends and trying new things together. In rare times, I do scrapbook.”

What ifs?
What if you weren’t in ministry?
“Can’t imagine doing anything else. Maybe being a Christian comedian, but wait that could be ministry oh well.”

What is a question you would like to ask God?
“Why us? Wasn’t there a more efficient way besides using broken people to further your Kingdom.”

What if you could spend time with any famous historical person?
There’s a few: From the Bible it would be Nehemiah, Hannah, Mary & Peter.
