Vitals:
My name is Drew Froese. I was born right here in San Jose on May 29th 1984. I was raised in a Christian family and came to accept Christ into my life at age 5. Although this is when I made the decision to follow Christ I really began to have a better understanding of what that meant as I got into my high school years. I still haven’t figured it all out (or a lot of it out) but over the past 5 years God has been HUGE presence, clearly revealing himself in really cool ways. I was married to my beautiful bride on August 6, 2005 and since we have been married we have been able to serve God in Africa (one of my most life changing events) and here at Westgate. I continue to learn what it means to live for Christ and I often fail, but as I take the journey to be like Jesus I realize that even though I often times fall short he is there cheering me on to get up and keep going.

Amy and I had our first child, a baby girl (Makenna Charlotte Froese) on November 11th (also Amy’s birthday) and are absolutely loving being parents of the cutest little baby in the world.


A Few Of My Favorite Thing:

I really enjoy the Splinter Cell series by Tom Clancy and David Michaels- there is nothing like a ridiculously intense book that makes you stop breathing because you fear that if you breath the bad guys will hear you, then you realize, “Oh yeah, it’s just a book.”

I also love playing both Soccer and Hockey (I capitalize them because, really, when it comes down to it those are the only two real sports). I enjoy the other “sports” but not with the passion of Soccer and Hockey. I am an Huge San Jose Sharks fan. I also like to Golf.
I am an artist and I actually graduated from San Jose State University with an Art Degree. I have done all sorts of art from metallurgy to watercolor and enjoy them all . My favorite medium is probably oil paints.

As for music, I am convinced that my music is my alter ego. I am a loud and outgoing person, but all the music I like is slow soft. I am a BIG fan of Nickel Creek, Josh Groban, Dave Barnes and Shane & Shane. I also play guitar, and love to sing (I’m not very good at either)

What Ifs:
"What If You Weren't in Ministry?
Well, until God stepped in and said, “Hey Drew why don’t you do what I think you should do?” I was planning on being a high school art teacher. I graduated from SJSU with and art degree, with an emphasis in teaching, transferred to Bethany University for my teaching credential and I just finished that program with both a teaching credential and a masters in teaching. So, I’m pretty sure that is where I would be, but God had different and MUCH BETTER plans for me. Praise Him!!!!


"What If You Could Spend time with any famous historical person?"
The obvious answer would be Jesus. Man, that would be awesome!!! I have this one friend who is about my age that I think is really wise. I only get to see him every once in a while now that he has moved, but when we hang out we are both crazily stupid together and very serious about our thoughts on Christianity and the church. I love talking to him to get his insight on things, share ideas with him and I soak in everything he says. My point in saying this is that if I enjoy learning from an in-depth conversations with my friend who, although is wise, has nothing on Jesus, how much more could I learn from hanging out, having my personal questions and ideas discussed with Jesus? How cool would it be (and will it be) to sit next to Jesus, knowing that here is a person who, even though I often times don’t love him like I should, trust him like I should, spend time with him like I should, praise him like I should, he looks at me, maybe puts his arm around me, and says, “I love you like I shouldn’t (way to much), trust you like I shouldn’t (I have faith that you will do everything I ask, even after you have failed me before), I spend every hour waiting by your side, and I look down on you excited in the smallest steps you take in doing my will and cheer you on to live the life I’ve called you to, you are my son”
