Vitals
Debbie was born and raised right here in the Santa Clara Valley in a Christian home. She accepted Christ at a young age while attending a neighborhood Vacation Bible School. She can still remember singing, “Good news, good news, Christ died for you…” As an adult, she realized God wanted more from her… not just to know about Him and to ‘be good’, but to know Him and serve Him.

Debbie met her energetic and athletic husband while working together at Bank of America in Campbell. They both received degrees from San Jose State in Marketing. When their children, Jason and Ryan, were in preschool, Debbie began devoting time to volunteer work – primarily in her boys’ schools. After 18 years of being a stay-at-home mom and doing volunteer work, Debbie joined the WestGate staff in the spring of 2002. She and her family are so thrilled they discovered WestGate in 1996… it’s been a wonderful journey!.

A Few of My Favorite Things
Movies -"I love to laugh, and am always looking for a good comedy! Two of my all-time favorites are The Princess Bride and Shrek. They're two movies I can watch again and again.""

Sports - “I enjoy playing the game of tennis… competitively as well as socially. I find it to be an exciting, fun sport with the added benefit of some great exercise. My favorite spectator sport is football. During football season, I love to snuggle up on the couch next to the fire with a bowl of popcorn and a Pepsi to catch a game on TV… go Niner’s.”

Music - "I listen to many styles of music - even the music my grown boys listen to, well some of it anyway. Some of my favorite Christian artists are Ginny Owens, Jars of Clay and Jennifer Knapp."

What If's
What if you weren't in ministry?
“This is a tough one! It’s hard to imagine right now. I suppose I’d either get into helping kids with learning disabilities or serving single moms. I could always play more tennis, of course!”

What if you could spend time with any famous historical person?
"I think it would be interesting to spend time with Deborah, from the Old Testament. Yes, we do share the same name, but I'd love to learn more about how she, with God’s help of course, managed to bring peace to Israel for 40 years.”
