The SONGS OF ADVENT

A recent study by the American Psychological Association found that the word most commonly used to describe the holiday season was “stressful.”  In fact, in a survey, 45 percent of Americans wish they could just skip Christmas.  Join us this December at WestGate Church for a new series The Songs of the Advent where we’ll explore some famous, old Christmas songs that talk about this season not in the terms of “stress” of “credit card limits” but by using words  like “hope” and “peace” and “joy.”  We’ll explore how Christmas - and the story of Jesus - can help us get back to that place.  And in the process, maybe we’ll rediscover the true gifts of Christmas.
