Beautiful Day started as an idea to answer a very specific question that is “if our church burnt to the ground would the community care?” We were convinced the answer was “NO!” In 2004 we decided to build a creative approach to reaching our community through compassion, justice, and serving in Jesus name. There were a few blood drives, and meals handed out to families in need and the vision began to unfold. “What if we involved other churches?” “What if we included local businesses and groups that can help?” “How can we work together to impact a whole community?”
The following year the concept of Beautiful Day was opened to a broader region of churches and invited them to bring their people and their best ideas to collaborate for the sake of serving the community. It has been non-stop ever since. The concept of Beautiful Day has cut across cities, counties, states, and oceans. It has bridged the sacred and the secular, the conservative and liberal… Beautiful Day sees no boundaries in mixed ages, ethnicities, or economic status. What unifies us is serving in Jesus name… and blessing others through compassion and justice, because we’ve been so blessed.
