Local Compassion here at WestGate is known as Beautiful Day.  Beautiful Day started with the question being asked “if our church buildings burnt down today, would anyone care?” Beautiful Day was the answer to that through huge serving efforts throughout the surrounding community of Santa Clara County and beyond.  We had no idea that would open up a huge platform for us to be influential in meeting the needs within the city and shining light in very dark places.

Different Beautiful Day projects happen throughout the year, and we have two large “all-hands-on-deck” seasons where the church serves the community together.  We literally have thousands of people involved on multiple levels doing projects that impact the city, neighborhoods, family and individuals.

Ongoing Beautiful Day projects like our School Impact Team. Work with Moreland and Santa Clara School Districts providing “First Monday” gifts to all teachers, help provide backpacks to students in need, a yearly appreciation and much more.

Over the years we have partnered up with numerous ministries outside of our walls. Doing Book drives for Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy’s to provide books for those in prison. Young Life Capernaum were we have started to run a yearly dance for students in the valley that are disabled.
