Over your lifetime, you’ve probably overcome some major obstacles and hurts. We encourage you to consider your life experiences as God’s training ground for you to love and understand those with similar experiences in a special way.
These are just a few ways that you can be involved in caring for the WestGate family.
Please feel free to let us know if there’s something you’re interested in doing that isn’t listed here.
Stephen Ministries
Stephen Ministers are people with a desire to care for others on a long term basis. They will often meet with someone when a crisis presents itself, and continue meeting with them for anywhere from 6 months to 3 years.
Stephen Ministers complete over 50 hours of training to care for individuals going through crises or life challenges. Including (but not limited to): hospitalization, illness, unemployment, divorce and separation, bereavement, miscarriage, infertility and more.
For more information about Stephen Ministries contact Dave@westgatechurch.org.
Meals
Don’t be intimidated… anyone can provide meals! You can make a meal at home, or just pick up take out. Most people on the team serve 6-8 times a year. The Meals Team offers meals to families and individuals going through major life transitions, such as a having new baby or recovering from surgery.
In some circumstances, we are able to offer on-going meals for those enduring long-term illnesses or treatments.
The Meals Team acts as a supplement to the care that the individual’s Life Group can provide. Contact fran@westgatechurch.org for more information or to join the team.
