TRAINING

We offer opportunities year round for our leaders to cultivate their leadership skills and spiritual development.  We focus on enriching your skills as a facilitator, developing the qualities and character of a leader and personal and emotional health.

Here are some of the various opportunities throughout the year:

New Leader Orientation and Training
All new leaders attend an orientation and training course where they learn how we practice and live out Six40 Discipleship (link), in our Core Life Groups and Life Groups, in addition to learning some basics of small group leadership.

R3 (refresh, renew and retool) – Seasonal leader meetings (fall, winter, spring)
Leaders, apprentices and Shepherds are strongly encouraged to attend all three R3’s. The focus is to come together to share the latest in Core and Life Groups, to learn new tools, and to share, learn and receive support from other leaders and the group leader’s Shepherd.

Vertical Representative Gatherings
Leaders focus on loving God and receiving love from God at our two Vertical Rep meetings a year. Vertical Representatives are the first of our three representatives (Compassion Rep – loving our neighbor, Body Rep – loving one another). These gatherings are designed for leaders to invest in themselves by learning and experiencing how to grow in their capacity to love God and to share and model this in their groups. Gatherings focus on such areas as Bible study methods, Soul Care, communion in groups, worship, prayer, spiritual practices and more.

Other Leadership Development Opportunities
Workshops, conferences, resources and more are offered at various times for our leaders to further grow in caring for their souls to lead from an overflow, to grow in their leadership skills, to grow in loving others, and more.
