Dear WestGate Family,

Our desire is to continue on the path of becoming PEOPLE who follow Christ to reach those without Christ in our local communities and, by His Grace, many around the world. Back in January 2007, we launched IMPACT, the next phase of our Stewardship Campaign here at WestGate, supporting the construction of new facilities for our growing children's ministries.

Amazingly, about 55% of you who are currently coming to WestGate were not here when IMPACT was launched and, therefore, we believe it is important to inform you of the vision of what we believe God is directing us to on this campus. We also believe it is just as important to give those who have pledged to IMPACT the opportunity to assess their current situation and re-pledge, especially in light of the current economic conditions.

As we continue with this phase, I want you to be aware of a couple key factors:

The completion of the IMPACT Campaign will provide necessary funds to begin construction of a multi-story Education Building incorporating classrooms that can better serve our children's ministries on the weekends by providing upgraded facilities to educate and care for the children and their spiritual growth. On the weekdays, these classrooms will provide other WestGate ministries with facilities available for education, discipleship, community life groups, and fellowship.

We will have the opportunity to continue to work on completing our campus and to provide an appropriate facility for generations to come. We believe we can multiply our IMPACT in our church, community, and the world for Christ by effective use and stewardship of our campus and its resources as a tool for ministry for decades to come.

The elders and WestGate membership have responded to God’s leading for this property to always be used for His Kingdom. Along with that decision, we realized that eventually we would have to improve the property and facilities. Our newly built Worship Center is testimony to how God has been faithful by growing our membership and our children’s ministries to the point of overflowing. Praise God for this! Now we must be good stewards of this property as He continues to lead us to impact our community and the families that live within our sphere of influence.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider what God has in mind for us as the IMPACT Campaign unfolds. We fully understand the challenges our community faces to achieve financial balance especially in light of the current economy. In response, we believe the following principles regarding our financial gifts can be of service to all of us throughout the coming year:

Dana and I are so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing WestGate family. We are absolutely excited about where God is leading us and how He will surprise us with His provision, strength, power and love. I am asking each of you to do three things in this Campaign:

Surrender - Tell God you will follow His leadership.

Listen - Ask how is God leading you in supporting this campaign?

Obey - Do what God asks; nothing more and nothing less!

Pray with us that God will show us the steps of faith He has in mind for each of us as the IMPACT Campaign unfolds.

Let me assure you this is not about buildings and dollars, but about being obedient to the course to which God is leading. Pray with us that God will show us the steps of faith that He has in mind for each of us as the IMPACT Campaign unfolds. We desire to continue becoming a PEOPLE who follow after Christ with reckless abandon to reach those without Christ.
