Christmas Eve 2018

YOU'RE INVITED

One of the most beloved Christmas songs ever* is the song “O Holy Night.”

This was the very first Christmas song ever broadcast live on the radio. It’s been recorded by both Mariah Carey AND Celine Dion. And Elmo. Spotify lists it as one of the most played songs around Christmas.

One of the lyrics from that song is “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices.”

If 2018 has shown us anything, it is that we are a people, God knows, who are weary. Weary of the darkness. Weary of the tragedy. Weary of all the endless ways that humans are terrible to one another. And even weary of our own incapability as humans to fix things.

We are a people who yearn for hope. Hope that things will get better. Hope that peace will reign.

Which brings us to this Christmas, and a stirring, counter-intuitive, surprising thought.

What if the birth of a poor peasant baby more than 2,000 years ago is the hope that we all long for?

So join us as we examine that powerful idea this year at our Christmas Eve services.

It’s a time for the whole family, complete with great Christmas music, festive lights and even hot coffee and cocoa and cookies. So join us.

Maybe even start a new family tradition.  We hope to see you there.
