Six40 Life Groups
A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40
WestGate is a church striving to live like Jesus through the elements of what we call Six40 Discipleship. Together we seek to live this out in a practical and authentic way by:
Loving God Authentic biblical teaching, dynamic worship experiences, engaging prayer, learning about God in small groups from children to students to adults
Loving our Neighbor Reaching out globally to the poor, sick and lost through support and trips, seeking opportunities to "be" the church in our community, serving here and alongside one another in small groups
Loving One Another Support for those in need, biblical guidance, serving the church body, caring for one another in small groups
Getting Connected
Explore/Discovery The flow of Six40 Life starts with Explore and Discovery. If you haven’t already done so, this is your chance to explore what WestGate’s all about, and to find out what our passions are, our structure, history, beliefs, what makes us unique and how to get involved. This is great if you’re new and just checking us out or if you’ve been around a while but want to go deeper. Please contact connect@westgatechurch.org for more info!
Core Life Groups The next step is a Core Life Group. These 10-week groups introduce people to Six40 Discipleship: Loving God, Loving Our Neighbor and Loving One Another by going through the book Being a Six40 Disciple. Six40 Discipleship is the heartbeat of WestGate and what drives us to “Live Jesus” in Silicon Valley and across the globe!
Life Groups Once you’ve been through a Core Life Group, we encourage you to continue on in the process of Loving God, Loving Your Neighbor and Loving One Another in an ongoing Life Group. Your 10-week group will have the choice to stay together and move forward, or disperse and plug in to other Life Groups. People who are in Six40 Life Groups are well known, loved and supported, so our goal is to help you get connected in this way.
